To interact with Avail network, you need to install a wallet that supports Avail network, and we recommend you install SubWallet. SubWallet is currently available on Google Chrome, Brave, Firefox & MS Edge, Android & iOS, and web dashboard.
Here's the video that walks you through the process of how to install SubWallet extension, create a new Avail account, and get Avail address step-by-step.
Below is the installation process on Google Chrome. The same process applies to Brave and MS Edge. You can find the link for each browser here
Step 1: Visit the Chrome Web Store and click "Add to Chrome":
Step 2: A pop-up will appear. Click "Add extension" to continue.
Step 3: Click on the extension icon and pin SubWallet Extension. You have successfully installed the ultimate wallet extension for using the Avail network!
Step 1: Open the SubWallet extension. On the welcome screen, click "Create a new account".
Step 2: Make sure you read all the Terms of Use by clicking on the scroll-down button and agree with the Term of Use by ticking the box beside "I understand and agree to the Terms of Use, which apply to my use of SuWallet and all of its feature". Then hit "Continue".
Step 3: Create your master password.
Read all the information on this screen carefully and tick "I understand that SubWallet can't recover the password". Then hit "Continue".
Please note that SubWallet is a non-custodial wallet and can't recover your password.
If you lose your password, you would need to import the account again with a seed phrase, private key, or QR code and then set up a new password.
Step 4: Before entering the seed phrase screen, you need to read all the terms about the seed phrase and tick all the checkboxes to confirm you understand the importance of your seed phrase. Then hit "Continue".
Step 5: SubWallet will present you with a new seed phrase. Please keep it in a safe place. Then click "I have kept it somewhere safe" to continue.
This seed phrase is as important as your private key; if someone has your seed phrase, they will have complete control of your account.
If, for instance, you forget your password, you will need your seed phrase to import the account again and set up a new password.
And All done! Click "Go to home" to start using SubWallet and Avail network.
You might want to change the account name after importing the new account into the wallet. Follow this guide to do so.
With each seed phrase created with SubWallet, you will have an Avail account (aka Polkadot account) and an EVM account. The Avail account would display your assets on Avail and other Polkadot SDK-based networks (such as Polkadot, Kusama, and Acala). In contrast, the EVM account would display your assets on EVM networks (such as Ethereum, Arbitrum, Optimism, etc).
SubWallet automatically enables Avail network for Avail accounts (aka Polkadot accounts), so you don't need to import or turn on the network manually.
